Desiree Hartsock & Chris Siegfried Reveal Their Baby’s Sex (PHOTO)
What a great way to start the weekend!
Though we thought Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried weren’t going to announce the sex of their first child, the Bachelorette Season 9 couple surprised fans on Friday with the big reveal.
This October, the Siegfrieds are welcoming a… baby boy into their family! Hooray!
We are so excited to share that we will be having a little baby BOY! Our hearts are so full of love for our little man already and we can't thank you all enough for the extra love you've shared during this special time! More of our excitement is over on www.UsWeekly.com today (link in profile). // photo: @jennakutcher
“Our hearts are so full of love for our little man already and we can't thank you all enough for the extra love you've shared during this special time,” Des captions a photo of the expectant parents holding their adorable dachshund Frankie and a baseball inscribed with, “It’s a boy!”
If you’re wondering about the meaning of the baseball, it may have slipped your mind Chris is a former professional baseball player, and was drafted to the Chicago Cubs in 2007. It also factored into his book of poetry, Diamonds and Hearts, released in 2013.
For the record, they had originally planned on “doing a dinner and keeping [the reveal] very private and only between us,” the 30-year-old hunk tells Us Weekly, but once they got the ultrasound, they were too excited to wait.
“We just couldn’t wait, once we found out,” he explains. “We didn’t care if it was a boy or a girl. But it was so nice to know.”
The mother-to-be says, now that they know what to expect, impending parenthood seems “all more real.” So much so, they’ve even finalized their name choice — but don’t think they’re sharing that info.
“We’re keeping it in our back pocket right now, but that’ll be a surprise to everyone!" she spills.
Whatever his name turns out to be, little Baby Siegfried sure seems to be treating his mama well these days, as she says she’s feeling “pretty great” in her third trimester.
The former reality star admits, “In the beginning, it was pretty rough. I was really tired all the time and my cravings have been so random. Every day is something new.”
Congratulations to the happy family!
