We’ve read rumors about the “dumpster fire” ahead of us, and there has to be a reason for Des’s ocean of tears. But here’s why, whatever else happens, she should dump Chris. It’s not because he’s a bad option by any stretch. It’s not even because of the poetry or getting a little too intimate with his nose during the hometown dates. It’s more because Des is clearly head-over-heels for Brooks and, if it doesn’t work out with him, she should just walk away a proud single woman instead of treating Chris like the second best option.
Yes, Des said she could see a life with Chris, but she also said she’s in love with Brooks. Chris just feels like her “maybe...” option, and he’s being used to tease viewers so we think she might end up with him in the end. Better to just let him go now so we know it’s Brooks or no one. (Poor Drew — he may be in love, but Des doesn’t seem to be feeling anywhere near the same fervor. If Des is kind, she’ll dump both Drew and Chris.)
Chris is a hunky athlete with huge potential in the dating world. He’s a (baseball pun alert!) great catch and deserves a woman with no doubts that he’s The One. At the very least he could give Juan Pablo Galavis and Zak Waddell a run for their money in the potential Bachelor department. Des should set Chris free so we can really delve into the Bachelor debate, provided Chris promises to scale back on the poetry.
