According to an E! News source, Des and Chris exchanged vows in an afternoon ceremony in front of family and friends that lasted only 15 minutes. The 28-year-old bride is said to have worn a one-shoulder lace dress she designed with Maggie Sottero, that included a sheer overlay on the neckline, as well as a lengthy, showstopping train. She finished the look with a side-parted, wavy hairstyle pinned at the ear and a long veil. So classic and beautiful!
While photos have yet to be released — they will appear in the upcoming issue of Us Weekly — fans will have more than a few chances to steal Desiree’s bridal look. The Bachelorette revealed months ago that she was designing not one but two dresses for her big day, and both gowns will be available as replicas by Maggie Sottero soon.
As for the shorter ceremony, that was a conscious choice by the couple, who were engaged in the Bachelorette finale in August 2013 when Chris proposed with a Neil Lane diamond ring (complete with 200 small diamonds).
"They were so excited to get married,” The E! insider reveals. They didn't want to wait another day. When Chris first saw Des walking down the aisle he was amazed at how beautiful she was. The ceremony was very emotional and sweet. They kept it very short and they walked out holding hands and kissing."
The news of the Hartsock-Siegfried’s wedding comes as little surprise, as both the bride and groom have kept fans pretty in the loop about their nuptials since their proposal. However, Chris did throw fans off a bit late last week when he tweeted on January 15 that the wedding was going to be in “9 days.” Tricky, Chris!
Still a few more days until we see pics from the big day, but rest assured these two are blissfully happy, as Des took to Instagram on Sunday to celebrate the union. “Let all you do be done with love,” the post reads, captioned with the hashtag “#HappySunday.”
And despite the fact that ABC passed on airing this Bachelorette wedding (the first time they’ve done so), it seems there are no hard feelings on at least the producer side of the decision, with show creator Mike Fleiss taking to Twitter to congratulate the couple, writing, “Congrats to Desiree and Chris. What a great couple! We love you!”
Congrats to the happy pair! Send all of your well wishes to the Siegfrieds below.
