BacheloretteDesiree Hartsock is the luckiest gal in the world — but before she started making out with 25 randoms, girlfriend experienced her fair share of heartbreak. Des was deflowered by Sean Lowe during The Bachelor Season 17, and it was basically the most tragic thing ever. So, how did she get through the rough times?
"I typically take any type of struggle or breakup really well in a sense, where I can see that there's gonna be good to come from it," she explains to The Huffington Post. "I truly believe that things happen for a reason and if someone's not gonna love me then I'm not gonna force that... I went right back into work, and I focused solely on what was important to me. And that helped me be able to get over heartbreak."
That sounds great, but what about those of us who don't love our jobs quite as much as Des love hers? (She's a wedding dress designer, by the way!)
"The biggest advice that works for me is really focus on what makes you happy," Desiree says. "If that's walking to the coffee shop and getting your latte, or eating a tub of ice cream, just whatever makes you happy. And getting outside and being with friends. I think that's honestly the best way to get over heartbreak."
The fact that Desiree's two examples of happiness are drinking lattes and eating "a tub of ice cream" makes us love her even more. Clearly, this lady knows what's up. Will you take her advice next time you go through a breakup?
