Reigning Bachelorette Desiree Hartsock is going to be such a gorgeous bride, we may have to start practicing our gasps for when she finally reveals her wedding dress.

As you know, our favorite Seattle bridal stylist/designer is engaged to baseball-playing poet Chris Siegfried, and they are planning a wedding that will be held … whenever it’s held. Last we heard, maybe next winter. Des recently revealed she’s partnering with Maggie Sottero to create not just her own wedding dress, but an exclusive collection of gowns.

There’s a new Q&A with Des up on Maggie Sottero’s site, with Des explaining when she first knew she wanted to become a designer, and why she specifically went into bridal design.

“I knew my sophomore year in high school, when all I wanted to do was make dresses and be creative,” Desiree said of her teenage design dream, adding, “The intricate detail and beauty of a wedding dress first inspired my passion for designing bridal gowns. A wedding gown is a piece of art that a bride will get to wear on one of the biggest days of her life… For that, I will always be inspired to design bridal gowns.”

Hear that? A wedding gown is a piece of art. This is why we have such high expectations for her own dress. Epic wearable art!

Since she’s such a fashionista, Des was asked to name her celebrity style crush — which turned out to be Nicole Richie. (Probably not from her days on The Simple Life … but hey, maybe.) And if you want another hint as to her own style tastes, when asked which fashion trend she’d like to return, she answered, “The plaid skirts with collared shirts from Clueless… I loved that movie!” As if … that trend ever went out of style. That’s how we dress all the time, don’t you? No?

Maybe Des can bring that trend back herself. Maggie Sottero asked fans what they want to see in Des’s upcoming collection, and the Bachelorette shared her favorite suggestion so far: “Lace with some bling!” You heard the lady, lace with some bling — keep that in mind for when her collection designs, and own wedding dress, are revealed.

Are you into lace with bling? Do you share Des’s love for Nicole Richie and Clueless? Maybe her collection will have lots of late ‘90s/early ‘00s influences. We’ll see!
