We’ve already had one Bachelor Nation wedding in 2014 — and we’re crossing our fingers that we’ll soon be getting another! Indeed, Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried appear ready to follow in Sean Lowe and Catherine Guidici’s footsteps by tying the knot sooner than later. But what can we expect from their big day? Here’s everything we know about the upcoming Siegsock nuptials.
While they said once they weren’t sure they’re going to tie the knot for our viewing pleasure, it seems that they’re definitely doing it on ABC now. “We are definitely open to it, especially since everyone followed along on our journey,” Des told YourTango after the Bachelor 18 finale. “I think it would be great to share our nuptials and love with Bachelor Nation.”
The happy couple feted their engagement at a party in February 2014 at DeLille Cellars winery in Woodinville, Wash. About 40 people attended, including Des’s mom and Bachelor couple Jason and Molly Mesnick.
A source told Wetpaint Entertainment that the couple is likely to get hitched before the year is up. “She is ready to get married,” the source said in the fall, and Chris is onboard, too. They’ve already agreed to film the ceremony for TV, so we can only assume the “save the dates” are coming soon.
In February, we were thrilled when a countdown timer popped up on Des’s Instagram page, suggesting that the wedding was coming in June. However, it turned out Des had been hacked, and so Chris bursted our bubbles by informing everyone that they had nothing to do with the countdown. Sigh.
Des had previously hinted that she might be a June bride, and she had also mentioned that fall would be good, too. Now, the latest we’ve heard is that a winter wedding could be in the works. “Next winter would be ideal,” a source told Wetpaint Entertainment.
When we spoke to Des in October 2013, she admitted she still hadn’t decided whether she wanted the wedding to be held in Seattle, where she currently lives with Chris, or in Southern California, where her friends (and the TV execs) are. Decisions, decisions.
In a March interview, Des said that while they’re still making Seattle their home, the wedding won’t be in the Pacific Northwest. “It will be in California, since that is where I call home,” Des said.
Des has a serious eye for design, and so she’ll be teaming up with Maggie Sottero Designs to create her perfect wedding gown. She’ll also be collaborating with the designer for a collection of gowns.
After Des and Maggie asked fans for suggestions on what her dress should look like, Des picked “lace and some bling” as her favorite. Des also reveals Nicole Richie as her celebrity style crush, so perhaps we can expect Des to rock something a little edgier than we’re used to.
Des will be wearing one dress for the ceremony and one at the reception. In fact, she and Maggie have already designed the two dresses, and Des reveals that both are “reflections of my personality.”
While the wedding is sometimes “all about the bride,” Des is happy to oblige Chris’s one request for their reception: a milkshake bar. Sign us up!
Since moving to Seattle, they’ve been palling around hard with Jason and Molly. Besides that, she just witnessed Renee Oteri’s secret wedding, so we’re betting she’ll get an invite. Also on the list? Ali Fedotowsky (“I love hanging out with Ali!”), and all the couples from the franchise. Trista and Ryan Sutter, Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum, DeAnna Pappas and Stephen Stagliano, and Sean and Catherine. Plus, Daniella McBride and Jackie Parr from Season 17 of The Bachelor.
