Former Destiny’s Child Member Gives Birth to a Baby Girl
Congrats are in order because former Destiny’s Child member LaTavia Roberson just gave birth to a “Baby-Boo.” The 31-year-old rapper welcomed her first child at an Atlanta hospital on August 21 and took to Twitter to announce the baby’s gender.
With a simple smiley face, LaTavia posted a twitpic of a congratulations balloon which reads, “It’s a Girl.”
LaTavia was an original member of Destiny’s Child, back when they were known as Girl’s Tyme on Star Search (yeah, that was a thing). Along with Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, and LeToya Luckett, LaTavia released the group's debut album and their first hit single, “No, No, No.”
The rapper also recorded with Destiny’s Child for their second album, The Writing’s on the Wall, which found even more success. Unfortunately, LaTavia and LeToya had a problem with Beyonce’s father Mathew Knowles managing the group, claiming the Queen Bey and Kelly were receiving the majority of the profits.
Both ladies left the group and were replaced by Michelle Williams.
Ironically, LaTavia’s daughter was reportedly due on Beyonce’s birthday (September 4), but it seems she made her appearance a bit early. So far the former singer has yet to “Say Her Name,” but we do know that she’s a child of destiny. Sorry, but we had to.
