Did Angie Miller Deserve to Go Home on American Idol? 5/9/2013
American Idol 2013 served up another shocking twist with tonight’s episode — but this time, it was America pulling the strings.
Angie Miller was eliminated from the Top 3 tonight, despite a strong set of performances last night and heaps of praise from the judges. A clear favorite from the get go, many had already placed their bets on Angie winning Season 12.
From the very beginning, the American Idol judges seemed to think Angie was the total package: She had stage presence, played the piano beautifully, and was even an accomplished songwriter. In fact, she took a major risk during Hollywood Week by performing an original composition. Yet to this day, it still stands out as one of her greatest performances on the show.
So did Angie Miller deserve to go home tonight on American Idol? It’s tough to say, but each of the Top 3 contestants had considerable strengths and very few weaknesses. To say any of them “deserved” to go home is a stretch by most standards. It was a tight race, and someone had to go home.
Based on the judges’ reactions and mentor Jimmy Iovine’s analysis from last night, we honestly didn’t expect Angie to go home.
Do you think it was Angie’s time to go, or did you expect to see her in the American Idol 2013 finale?
