The Voice: Did Dawn and Hawkes’s Elimination Last Week Surprise You?
It happens at least once a season on any singing competition show, where an artist you’re certain will make it to the finale ends up getting cut. And this far, for us, it was adorably twee folk duo Dawn and Hawkes. When we saw Adam Levine’s reaction to the two during their Blind Audition, we were sure he’d take them as far as the voting public would allow, but when it came time to pare his team of five down to three, the Austin couple didn’t make the cut.
However, it seems most fans agreed with Adam’s decision. When we polled Viggle LIVE! users during the April 14 Playoffs episode, nearly 62 percent felt the pair of singer-songwriters had definitely reached the point where it was time for them to go home.

Though a majority said it was definitely the right time for Dawn and Hawkes to make their exit, they still appear to have a loyal following. More than 38 percent of Viggle users are totally bumming over their elimination.
Without the duo on the roster, this means all the artists advancing to the live rounds are solo acts. So far, the only dynamic duos to be put before a voting TV viewership are Team Cee Lo’s The Thompson Sisters of Season 1 and Team Blake’s Swann Brothers on Season 4.
