Last Monday’s episode of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta Season 3 ended on a pretty unsavory note when newcomer Yung Joc walked in on girlfriend Karlie Redd’s vocal exercises with singer Jeremih, which included a bit of more-than-friendly touching and hugging. When Yung pops in on the two, he immediately thinks something’s going on — despite Karlie’s protests. But was there more to Jeremih and Karlie’s one-on-one moment?
While chatting with Cleveland’s 107.9, Jeremih says that he and Karlie are just friends.
“I’m just there. I was just helping out. I was helping her out with the record. Karlie Redd, she the homie,” Jeremih admitted, adding, “I’m glad she and Yung Joc are working things out.”
Of course, the radio show hosts didn’t want to believe that Jeremih and Karlie were nothing more than just platonic friends, but Jeremih asserted, “She the homie, it is what it is.”
Some fans even suggested that Karlie may have gotten a little more-than-friendly with the “Birthday Sex” singer in order to make Joc jealous, but Jeremih said he didn’t “know fam was going to come to set,” nor does her feel used if in fact Karlie did use him.
“I’m not gonna say I feel way. I couldn’t feel a way,” he revealed.
When asked if he had ever met Yung Joc before their awkward encounter, he said they met once years ago when Yung was trying to sign him to a record label, “Prior to me seeing him with Karlie, that was the last time I’d seen him.” But aside from it all, he said that there’s “been a mutual respect … But it is what it is, he’s cool man,” and he didn’t mean to come between the two.
Love & Hip Hop Atlanta Season 3, Episode 4: "New Help" airs tonight, Monday, May 19 at 8 p.m. ET on VH1.
