The Vampire Diaries Digital Comic Receives Halloween 2013 Release Date

Have you ever watched an episode of The Vampire Diaries and wondered what it would look like in a digital comic book form? We were intrigued when this project was announced at the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con, but at last weekend’s New York Comic-Con, a date was finally attached to the project.

Mark your calendars for October 31! Not only is it Halloween, but it is also the night that Season 5, Episode 5: “Monster’s Ball” premieres. Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) and Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) are going to the Whitmore Historic Ball dressed as Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. But a run-in with creepy microbiology professor Dr. Maxfield (Rick Cosnett) and some tears from Caroline Forbes (Candice Accola) are going to make this a memorable night.

Check out DC Comics’s full statement on the anthology series:

“After an incredible start to the new season of The Vampire Diaries on The CW fans have even more to be excited about — the digital comic based on the show announced at San Diego Comic-Con will launch on Thursday, October 31. Elena, Stefan and Damon will make their comic debut in a new Digital First anthology series that brings many of comics’ greatest talents to Mystic Falls, and sets them loose to bring the characters to life in an entirely new way. Creators working on the project include writers B. Clay Moore, Colleen Doran and the team of Leah Moore and John Reppion, while artists include Tony Shasteen and Cat Staggs.”

Will you be checking out the digital comic? Are you excited for the Halloween episode? Hit the comments and let us know!
