Disney has officially picked up Girl Meets World, the spin-off of '90s hit Boy Meets World, People reports.
The new show, which starts production in Los Angeles this summer, will premiere in 2014 on the Disney Channel.
The new show follows Rowan Blanchard as Riley, the 13-year-old daughter of Cory and Topanga, as she navigates teenage life.
Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel, who play Cory and Topanga, respectively, have confirmed their participation in the project, while other actors, including Rider Strong, are rumored to be joining the cast.
As for how faithful the new show will be to the original, Ben told audiences at the ATX Television Festival that it will "honor the old show" while "trying to work in this new dynamic and this new time that we're all living in."
