Dancing With the Stars 2014: Do Meryl Davis and Charlie White Have an Unfair Advantage?

Dancing With the Stars Season 18 features an incredibly strong crop of dancers, but even amongst the talented cast, Olympic ice dancing champs Charlie White and Meryl Davis stand out. After all, they have "dancer" right there in their professional title. Isn't that a bit unfair?

Now that we've had time to see how good Meryl and Charlie actually are in comparison to the competition, Wetpaint Entertainment teamed up with Viggle LIVE! to see how fans are feeling about the ice dancers. It turns out a fair chunk of fans think they have an unfair advantage.

In fact, a full 74 fans said that they find it "totally unfair" that professional ice dancers have been brought into the competition, while only 26 percent said they didn't mind.

Personally, we're conflicted. We love, love, love having Charlie and Meryl on the show. They both seem like genuinely kind people, and it's great to see such amazing dancing every week. Plus, the judges are clearly holding Meryl and Charlie to a very high standard, so the scoring doesn't really give them that much of advantage.

That said, they clearly do come into the competition with a much higher skill level than anyone else, and we wouldn't blame other stars for finding that frustrating.

It's a complicated question, so we want to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
