Does Game of Thrones’ Jack Gleeson Get Harassed on the Streets?
On Game of Thrones, Jack Gleeson portrays the villainous King Joffrey, one of the most vile, hated characters ever to grace a television screen. For this reason, one has to wonder if Jack has to put up with any backlash from fans in real life thanks to his convincing portrayal.
Thankfully for Jack, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Speaking to Pittsburgh’s WPXI, Jack says, “The first question people usually ask me is, ‘Do you get harassed on the streets? Do people come up and punch you?’ And, it’s never happened in my life. Everyone is so chill and appreciative of the show.”
Phew. We’re glad to hear it. As awful as Joffrey is, Jack seems like a pretty cool guy in real life. He does concede that peoples sometimes will approach him and ask why he killed Ned Stark, but he’s quick to clarify that, “It’s always in jest, it’s always in good fun.” We're glad Game of Thrones fans know the difference between fiction and reality!
Jack goes on to say of his relatively newfound fame since being on the show, “I’ve had nothing but positive experiences from my celebrity, it’s been good.”
Keep up the good work, Jack. Or should we say bad work?
