The season 3 finale of Downton Abbey left Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery) as a single mother when her husband Matthew Crawley (Dan Stevens) died in a car crash. But if you were expecting Lady Mary to stay in mourning for a while, you are absolutely correct.

Michelle assures fans that Lady Mary "hasn't moved on that quickly" and that Matthew will receive a proper mourning period. Man, if there's anything these people know how to do, it's mourn. "The predicament that Mary's in now is that she does need to find someone eventually," Michelle continues. "She has the heir to Downton, she has baby George and she is under pressure to find someone. In that world, women had to find someone. It was all about marriage and who you'd spend the rest of your life with."

Fans of the show know that Lady Mary has no problem attracting men. "She's an eligible bachelorette," Michelle explains. "It's exciting. We've got some great actors joining the show."

Two such suitors are played by Tom Cullen and Julian Ovenden, and both will try to win Lady Mary's recently broken heart. Tom will play Lord Gillingham, a family friend of the Crawleys, and Julian will be Charles Blake, an aristocrat.

And if you're hoping that Lady Mary will hook up with Tom Branson (Allen Leech), who lost his wife Sybil (Jessice Brown Findlay), Lady Mary's sister, during childbirth, think again! "Oooh, I can't do that," Michelle teases. "He's my brother-in-law!"

"While it would be great for drama, I don't think it would be right for those two," Allen piped in. "As much as they respect each other, they come from very different worlds."

Who will Lady Mary choose? The suspense is killing us, and the season hasn't even started.

Season 4 of Downton Abbey premieres January 5, 2014.
