Season 3 of Downton Abbey saw many a good character take flight. (Sidenote: If you’re not caught up, we suggest you go do that, seeing as the UK premiere is just days away.) They all had their reasons for leaving: Siobhan Finneran (Sarah O’Brien) wanted a rest while Dan Stevens (Matthew Crawley) and Jessica Brown-Findlay (Lady Sybil) aimed for bigger screens.

Well, the Hollywood ambitions of both Dan and Jessica appear to be coming true. Dan’s made a name for himself on foreign shores by appearing on Broadway and will briefly grace the screen in the Wikileaks movie, The Fifth Estate. As for Jessica, it looks to be another period drama but this time with monsters.

The former Lady Sybil will play the female lead in 20th Century Fox’s latest take on the tale of Frankenstein, reports Variety. She’ll star alongside James McAvoy and — brace yourselves, fans of all things British — Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe.

This new take on the Mary Shelley classic, as yet untitled, will be directed by Sherlock director Paul McGuigan and was written by Chronicle screenwriter Max Landis. It’ll be told from hunchbacked assistant Igor’s point of view with Dan’s playing the lead and James starring as Dr. Frankenstein. We’re guessing Jessica will make up the third point of this horror story’s love triangle and not, fingers crossed, as a reincarnated Sybil.

As sad as we were to see Jess leave Downton Abbey (particularly in such a horrifyingly sad way), it’s good to hear her big screen dreams are coming true! For this latest role, she reportedly beat out several already established film actresses including fellow Brit Felicity Jones. Downton Abbey, represent!
