There’s a chill in the air and the leaves look to be turning. You know what that means? It’s almost autumn, and that means the season of Downton Abbey is here! Well, at least, ‘tis the season for some lucky viewers.
Downton Abbey Season 4 will hit United Kingdom televisions (or tellies, as the locals would call them) this Sunday, September 22, at 9 p.m. on ITV. That’s exactly 14 weeks before PBS airs the same season in the United States. Fourteen weeks? That’s 98 days which is 2,352 hours which is...okay we’ll stop shedding salty tears in the wound. Remind us again why PBS and ITV don’t show the series at the same time?
Still, we can take comfort knowing that someone, anyone will finally get to see the poor widow Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery) and her adorable baby son George, learn how Lady Edith (Laura Carmichael) is doing as a budding journalist, and morally support Tom Branson (Allen Leech) as he copes with his new roles of single dad and upstairs member of the Downton household.
And for our non-ITV watching readers who just can’t wait those 14 weeks, never fear. There’s always the one-minute, two-second teaser trailer to play on a loop and, even better, we’ve been keeping tabs on the latest Downton gossip.
