Over on Downton Abbey, it’s been six months since Matthew’s (Dan Stevens) death left his beloved Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery) both a widow and a single mother to baby George. As we saw during  the premiere of Season 4, the shock of Matthew’s death left Mary seriously considering if she should continue living at all.

Thankfully — and be warned, there are spoilers ahead — Mary decided to keep up the good fight and shed her widow’s weeds. But does wearing dark shades of purple mean she’s also ready for love?

Ready or not, Mary’s about to meet a dashing new man who’s keenly interested in the eldest Crawley daughter. Anthony Foyle, Lord Gillingham (Tom Cullen) is an old family friend who returns to Downton for a swanky party during Episode 3. The tall, dark, and handsome lad even catches the eye of Robert (Hugh Bonneville) who, during a preview for the January 12 episode, refers to Anthony as a “glamorous pirate.” Permission to board, sir?

Further clips from the video show Anthony asking Mary to dance while the Dowager Countess (Maggie Smith) grins in the background and, later, he even gets the downcast heiress to laugh and smile — much to the chagrin of Dan’s mother, Isobel (Penelope Wilton).

Perhaps Isobel will change her mind on the new addition when she sees this latest photo of him, courtesy of the actor underneath the tux. “A new pic of me in my Downton swag. See you all next week. Thanks for the support. Big love x,” Tom Cullen tweeted on September 29, 2013.

Now, if you’ll excuse us, we need a moment to stare into those dreamy eyes. Thanks so much for our new desktop wallpaper, Tom.
