If we have one complaint about Season 4 casting so far, it’s that we’ve seen far too little of babies George and Sybbie.

After making their debut in the premiere, both have only been spotted from a distance, typically being pushed in their prams by Nanny (thankfully, a new nanny after Grandmama Cora (Elizabeth McGovern) kicked out that one old witch).

Nanny, however, takes a quick break in the January 26 episode, which means we finally get some quality time with these cuties!

In a video we got a glimpse of back when the show was live in the U.K., Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery) enters the nursery. “I thought I’d get an extra ten minutes in before the gong goes,” she says, bending down to pick up her baby son.

How nice is it to see Mary embrace her role as a mum? Just a few episodes ago she was calling George a “poor little orphan” and now she’s bouncing him on her knee. Progress!

Speaking of model parents, Tom Branson (Allen Leech) is playing blocks with toddler Sybbie.

“Sybbie says there’s going to be a hurricane any moment now,” he jokes as Mary holds George (seriously, does this kid only wear sailor outfits because, if so, the cuteness may kill us).

“Do you think she’s having a good childhood?” Mary asks Tom of Sybbie. “That we’re doing well?” It’s the closest we’ve seen Mary outwardly admit to apprehension she may not make a good mother.

“I think you’re doing your best for her, if that’s what you mean,” Tom kindly reassures.

Then comes the hurricane and Sybbie gets a line! Tune in to PBS at 9 p.m. Sunday, January 26, to hear her adorable one-word baby babble.
