Season 4 of Downton Abbey might still be airing in the U.S., but the show has already been renewed for next year. Only a few short weeks ago, Season 5 was but a random collection of thoughts in the egg-like head of Julian Fellowes. Now, it’s being filmed on location in the United Kingdom!

While spoilers about the fifth season are only slowly leaking out abroad what we have, we’re rounding up here — we do have some idea on who’s in and who’s out next time round. Interested? Of course you are. This is Downton we’re talking about!

From what we’ve heard as of publishing, all the main cast members are signed on for another year of shows. That includes Lord Grantham (Hugh Bonneville), his wife (Elizabeth McGovern), and daughters, both Mary (Michelle Dockery) and Edith (Laura Carmichael).

Less clear is if the Dowager Countess (Maggie Smith) is onboard too. Although a brief brush with death this past season ended in her full recovery, the Dowager’s no spring chicken, as hard as that is to say. IMDb does tell us to expect Maggie in the first episode, so hold off on wearing black, at least for the start of the season.

Based on how things end up in the Season 4 finale, we’d bet both of Mary’s beaus, Lord Gillingham (Tom Cullen) and Charles Blake (Julian Ovenden), find their way back to Downton. The future isn’t quite as bright for Edith’s lover and the father of her child, Michael Gregson (Charles Edwards).

That said, we do know someone very important to Edith will be arriving at the Abbey in Season 5: her baby daughter! Or, at least, that’s what we’re hearing online where a source tell us a casting call went out for twin baby girls (like with Mary’s young son on the show, twin babies are preferred to play one role so neither child gets tired out too easily).

Edith’s secret daughter will be accompanied by at least three other new characters including a Russian refugee. No major time jump has been announced so we’re guessing Season 5 will open at the tail end of 1923 or early 1924, which means more of the Jazz Age served with a side of revolution in Russia.

Who or what are you hoping to see come Season 5? Got an idea of what’s ahead? We’re all ears. Head on over to our official Downton Abbey Facebook and share your thoughts!
