Looking to start your weekend off with a laugh? You’ve come to the right place. Downton Abbey may not be known as much of a comedy even with the memorable zingers courtesy of the Dowager Countess (Maggie Smith), but in the hands of Will Ferrell just about anything is funny.
The Saturday Night Live alum recently stopped by the newest project of his old bud and fellow SNL-er Jimmy Fallon. Jimmy, of course, took the helm of the entertainment standard The Tonight Show earlier this week. Will is just one of many famous guests who’ve helped Jimmy get started but we’re pretty sure he’s the only one who performed an ice skating routine during his visit (maybe next time, Michelle Obama).
Dressed in a tight black and white get-up that has us itching to watch Blades of Glory, Will announced his big performance to Jimmy and the audience. “If you’re wondering what my costume is, my theme is Downton Abbey,” Will explains, white gloves gesticulating in time. “I’m a butler.”
“Are you Carson from Downton Abbey?” asks Jimmy, an obvious Downtonite.
“I don’t know. I’ve never seen it. But I’m a butler … is there a butler in it?” Will replies.
We’ll let that lapse of Downton knowledge pass seeing as Will goes on to treat us to a real doozy of a performance. Head below to see it for yourself. Unfortunately, the set doesn’t open with a dog butt.
