Downton Abbey, Modern Family Among 2012 BAFTA Television Award Nominees
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts released its 2012 Television Award nominees on April 24, and a couple of our small-screen favorites made the list.
Dame Maggie “Sizzlin’ Senior” Smith, 77, is up for Supporting Actress for her role as the prim-and-snarky Dowager Countess on Downton Abbey.
Over in the international category, the must-see comedy Modern Family is pitted against weightier fare — Borgen (a Danish political drama), The Killing II (a Danish crime drama), and The Slap (an Australian drama).
The awards will take place Sunday, May 27.
