Rejoice, Downton Abbey lovers! The ratings giant, which just finished airing Season 2 in the United States, is coming back for at least three more seasons. We already knew it had been renewed for the third season, but now TVLine has confirmed that the majority of the cast has already signed on for Seasons 4 and 5 as well. Yay!
Unfortunately, we don’t know yet if the entire cast will be back. So far, Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary), Elizabeth McGovern (Cora), Hugh Bonneville (Robert), Joanne Froggatt (Anna), and Brendan Coyle (Bates) have all signed on, but noticeably missing from that lineup are Dan Stevens (Matthew), Siobhan Finneran (O’Brien), and Jessica Brown Findlay (Lady Sybil).
We don’t even want to think about the show without them. Mary without Matthew would be all kinds of wrong. Hopefully we’ll soon be able to tell you that the rest of the cast has committed as well. Stay tuned for updates!
