Lord Gillingham Anthony Foyle
Anthony Foley (Tom Cullen) returns to a much different Downton Abbey than the grand manor he visited as a child. The dashing Lord Gillingham arrives for the first party the Abbey’s hosted since the untimely death of Matthew Crawley (Dan Stevens) and rekindles his friendship with the widowed Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery). His feelings are so strong, in fact, that Lord Gillingham pops the question just a handful of days after the party at Downton. It’s too fast for Mary, however, and she turns down his offer. Last we see of Lord Gillingham, he’s walking off into the distance, presumably to marry that rich heiress, Mabel Lane Fox.
Tom was introduced in Season 4, Episode 2: "March 1922."
