Drew Barrymore Wouldn’t Let Her Daughter Pose For Playboy

Drew Barrymore may have no regrets about her past, but it doesn’t mean she wants her daughter, Olive, following the same path. Although Olive is only 18 months old, if she ever asks to pose in Playboy in the future just like Mom did, Drew already knows the answer will be a resounding “no.”

“I would not let her,” Drew said in a recent interview with ABC News. “My life choices are not supposed to be the gateway to somebody else’s. That’s my journey.”

And although Drew had a famously rocky childhood — entered rehab at age 13, attempted suicide, and later became emancipated at age 15 — she knows she and husband Will Kopelman will be able to provide something different for Olive and her next baby, who’s due in three months.

“I celebrate that I had any sense of freedoms at a certain point, because I don’t feel like that now,” Drew said. “The best kind of parent you can be is to lead by example, and whatever I’ve experienced in my life is a part of my story and I’m proud of that. But it’s someone who wakes up early, works all day, believes in charitable work.”

And Drew can appreciate the fact that her troubled past will play a part in making her a better mother — and hopefully keep her children from making the same mistakes.

“I love the wonderful, awkward journey that I’ve been on in my life,” she added. “I never have to worry that, like, I didn’t get anything out of my system.”
