"It was very shocking, actually, and surprising, to be honest, to be in the bottom two," Helio told People. "I was like, 'Whoa, what happened here?'"
He told Access Hollywood he kept looking at his pro partner Chelsie Hightower. "Well, do I have to prepare a speech for going home?’ I wasn’t prepared for that in Week 2. It was kind of [frustrating] for us.”
It also showed the perils of being in the middle of the pack, since Helio and Chelsie were smack dab in the center of the 12 couples, with a score of 23 out of 30. Drew and Anna had also been near the middle when they ended up in the bottom.
But even though the bottom two placement sapped Helio and Chelsie's spirits for a bit, they are entering tonight’s Week 3: Performance show ready to impress with their Quickstep. They have their eyes on staying out of tomorrow’s double elimination and staying in the race to the end, so Chelsie can win DWTS for the first time.
“I have high hopes for her to give her a Mirror Ball trophy,” Helio told Access, “but, we’re happy that at least we’re here to keep going,” he said.
Drew and Anna Trebunskaya were safe on Week 2, after their early brush with the bottom two. Do you think Helio and Chelsie will be safe this week as well? Are you supporting Team Chelio or are your votes heading elsewhere?
