DWTS Season 14 Finals: Did Katherine & Mark Really Deserve a Perfect 60?

On last night’s Dancing With the Stars Season 14 Finals, the judges seemed keen on handing out perfect scores to every single couple. And every couple did, in fact, score a perfect 30 at least once.

But one couple, Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas, actually scored a total of 60 for both of their dances — a perfect score! Did both of their dances — the Judges’ Choice of their Paso Doble, and the Freestyle — really deserve perfect 30s?

While Katherine and Mark seemed to improve on their Paso, which they originally danced during Rock Week (Season 14, Week 4: Performance) to disappointing scores, we couldn’t have been the only ones who noticed Katherine’s error during her Freestyle. The couple made a big deal out of their planned back flip, so when they performed it, we were a little disappointed to see Katherine’s faulty dismount. Sure, she popped right back up and fell in line with Mark, but her landing was definitely wobbly and off-center.

We can’t help but wonder why the judges would still give perfect 10s all around. Did Katherine really deserve a perfect 60 for the evening?

Watch the next new episode of DWTS tonight, May 22 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
