‘DWTS’ Pros Dish on Show Secrets, Rivalries, & “Hard” Partners
Dancing With the Stars is returning in just a few short weeks, which means the pros are already hitting the dance floor with their brand new partners.
Though we don’t know the celebrities who will be dancing on Season 25 just yet, we do know our favorite pros will be returning.
It’s no secret every pro wants to win DWTS, but they promise it’s not as intense as the rumors make it out to be.
“It’s intense for the show. But in reality, we are good friends. It’s not like, ‘I have to beat Mark Ballas!’” Peta, 31, confirmed to Us Weekly.
“To be honest, I think the fans fight more than we do! The stories about bad blood and confrontation get blown out of proportion,” Sharna, 32, revealed.
As for Witney, who has fun in the beginning, the claws do come out when she makes it further in the show.
“At the beginning of the season we’re all so excited,” the 23-year-old said.
“Then, when it starts getting serious, I shut my door because I don’t want anybody to see my routine! I am super-competitive.”
Fans have also accused the show of rigging its winners in past seasons, but all the pros promise that’s not the case.
“I think everyone is guilty of feeling that in the moment, but if the show was rigged, don’t you think they would have been busted by now? Sometimes the best dancer doesn’t win,” Mark, 31, shared.
And, while we love seeing all the close partnerships that form on the show, sometimes the dancers get stuck with very difficult celebrities.
“There have been some hard partners! I don’t defend partners who are not nice people. I’m not going to stick my neck out for people who don’t deserve it,” Maks, 37, said.
“I used to want an athlete over any actor. But some of these athletes come on the show for the wrong reasons.”
On the flip side, however, are the romance rumors that pop up every season. Remember the Sharna and Bonner Bolton gossip from Season 24, anyone?
“Last season, fans were very much hoping that Bonner [Bolton] and I were going to get together. We met and had incredible chemistry and neither of us were against it,” she confessed.
“But I was the coach and he was the student. Our dynamic changed. I don’t know if I’d be able to be romantic on one side and then the boss on the other.”
