American Horror Story: Will Dylan McDermott Return to Join the Coven?
Dylan McDermott may not have survived the "Murder House" of American Horror Story's first season — nor did his character fully appreciate the hotness of his Connie Britton-clone wife — but thanks to the anthology nature of the spooktastic show, he and many other Season 1 thespians returned as all-new characters in American Horror Story: Asylum.
So could Dylan take time out from his new show, CBS's Hostages, to pop up in AHS's third season, Coven? That's exactly the question TVLine posed to the 52-year-old actor in a new interview — and his response is promising!
"I start a movie called Survivor in January, with Milla Jovovich, Pierce Brosnan, Emma Thompson and Angela Bassett, but [AHS co-creator Ryan Murphy] wants me to come back, and I want to come back. So we just have to figure out the scheduling. To me, [doing American Horror Story] is always like going home."
Hey, if Angela Bassett can do Survivor and play voodoo queen Marie Laveau in AHS, then Dylan can do the movie and play a Coven character, too!
Given Coven's penchant for drawing on the rich history and folklore of its New Orleans setting, perhaps Dylan can portray legendary pirate Jean Lafitte — who, in true AHS fashion, would be a psycho-killer of some sort.
