Ellen Kardashian’s ties to the Kardashian girls may have been cut short with the untimely death of her husband, Robert Kardashian, in 2003, but it seems her lawsuit against her former family members will never end.
Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe Kardashian, and their mother, Kris Jenner, have been in an ongoing battle with Robert’s widow after Ellen allegedly stole personal diaries, photos, and other documents from the family and sold them to tabloids for publication.
Although it may seem like the Kardashians have legitimate reasons to harbor some not-so-friendly feelings toward Ellen, who married Robert just six weeks before his death, it’s Ellen who recently countersued the Kardashians for defamation, public disclosure of private facts, infliction of emotional distress, and a number of additional offenses.
While the Kardashian family has attempted to have the lawsuit thrown out on the basis of free speech, RadarOnline.com reports that Ellen is begging a judge to reconsider and proceed with her case.
“Kimberly Kardashian exaggerated the brevity of Plaintiff’s marriage to her father both on television and through her Twitter post which detrimentally depicted Plaintiff as a falsely motivated opportunist….” reads Ellen’s plea to keep the case afloat. “This malice or reckless disregard of the truth regarding Plaintiff and particularly Plaintiff’s marriage to their father, stems from their apparently long-standing dislike of Plaintiff.”
Ellen’s claims about being disliked by her former family members may be overblown, but not entirely unfounded — in a recent deposition, Kim called her former step mother a “slippery snake.”
Do you think Ellen has a case against the Kardashians, or should her lawsuit be thrown out?
