As you may have heard, actress Ellen Page came out as gay over the weekend, home skillet. And several Glee stars are singing her praises.
Ellen, 26 — who was nominated for an Oscar for her breakout role in 2007's Juno and appears in this summer's (confusingly titled) blockbuster, X-Men: Days of Future Past — came out at the Human Rights Campaign's "Time to Thrive" conference on February 14.
"I’m here today because I am gay ... and because maybe I can make a difference," Ellen told the audience at the event. "I am tired of hiding, and I am tired of lying by omission."
Glee star Jane Lynch (Sue Sylvester) — who is gay — tells People that Ellen shouldn't feel she was lying to people by keeping her orientation to herself until now. "When I was younger, I lied by omission," Jane says. "She should give herself a break and not call it 'lying.'"
"But I know what it is to feel like you can't be open and honest about your orientation," Jane continues. "Good for her!"
