Believe it or not, by this time next year, Ellen Pompeo (Meredith Grey) could have three series on TV: Grey's Anatomy, on which she stars, and two shows that she'd executive-produce!

News broke on August 19 that she's developing a second TV show, a cop drama. Read on…

Deadline reports that the 44-year-old Grey's star and her production company, Calamity Jane, are working on a female-centric police series in collaboration with ABC Studios.

The drama, written by Andy Stern, focuses on a young cop in Boston named Keira Burke who is severely injured in the line of duty. She becomes a police psychologist and returns to her old precinct six years later — but realizes she's now an outsider.

Both Ellen and Andy serve as executive producers on the project, alongside Calamity Jane head of development Laura Holstein.

We imagine that the series would air on ABC — if it makes it that far in the process, of course — but it's possible that ABC Studios would sell the series to another network.

In case you missed it, we learned earlier this month that Ellen is also developing a project for ABC Family based off the novel Debt.

Sounds like this TV star is diversifying her portfolio — and "debt" is probably the last thing she needs to worry about!
