Daenerys Targaryen might be warming up to a new man in Season 4 — but what about her IRL counterpart, Emilia Clarke? The short answer is: We don't know.

Rumors often fly around about Emilia's potential beaus, but the most major man in her history has to be Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane — who became Emilia's ex in March 2013 after dating her for about four months. The breakup, which sources say was "a location challenge," was probably for the best — Seth wrote the "We Saw Your Boobs" song from the 2013 Oscars, and Emilia has dragons.

Since her breakup with Seth MacFarlane, the rumor mill has given Emilia a few prospects, but none have really stuck, much less been confirmed. In June, Emilia was spotted at an art fair in New York with James Franco, even leading some to speculate the pair was engaged — a rumor that Emilia dismissed as ridiculous. She told The Observer, “I had my aunt from America calling me up and being like, ‘Where’s the ring?’ … It’s hilarious. He is, of course, beautiful. But I feel there’s only a handful of women who could form an engagement after two meetings, and I’m not one of them.”

Occasionally, people will speculate about Emilia and her brutally hot co-star Kit Harington (Jon Snow) — but it's probably just wishful thinking. Eyebrows were raised when Dallas Buyers Club star Jared Leto flirted with Emilia on the Screen Actors Guild Award red carpet, but we think that "her eyes … are absolutely insane" is just Jared being friendly.

Anyone putting together relationship theories earlier this year may have had their hopes dashed by an Instyle UK interview with Emilia, when she said explicitly that she's not dating anyone. "People keep asking me who I'm dating right now and the truth is...wait for [it]...no one," she admitted. "And that's OK. I'm figuring out a lot of stuff right now. I think as a woman it's in our nature to nurture someone else. Sometimes at the expense of ourselves."

Since that interview hit the Internet in March, though, it doesn't quite address the latest relationship rumors around Emilia. She's been seen out and about repeatedly with Cory Michael Smith, whom she co-starred with in the Broadway revival of Breakfast at Tiffany's. While a source close to the pair told Page Six that "they're just friends," other guests spotted the pair holding hands and slow-dancing. But hey, if you can't slow-dance with your friends, who can you slow-dance with?
