Little Women’s Emily Fernandez Using IVF to Get Pregnant After the Death of Her Son

Moving on from heartbreak.

Emily Fernandez of Little Women: Dallas tragically lost her infant son over a year ago, but she and her boyfriend, Lontel Johnson, are ready to try again for another baby.

But as we've seen on the show, getting pregnant again comes with a lot of obstacles for Emily, especially because of her small stature.

In the Season 2 finale of the hit Lifetime show, Emily, also known to fans as "Right Cheek," is ready to undergo IVF in an effort to concieve another child.

But she hits a major setback when the doctor gets ready to implant the fertiliized embryos, which is the final step in the invitro fertilization process.

"In order to move forward with the procedure, the doctor has to use a metal speculum, but this speculum is not made for little people and this shit hurts," she says in a voiceover as she cries in pain on the doctor's table.

The doctor is visibly having a hard time with the size of the speculum, which isn't too surprising considering Emily is only 4"1.

"If you're this uncomfortable before doing the transfer than we probably shouldn't do the transfer," he tells his disappointed patient.

Emily has been very open on the show about her desire to expand her family, even though Lontel wasn't necessarily ready for another child after they lost their son, JJ, due to health complications in August 2016 when he was just three months old.

No one will ever understand what you ment to me. I still can't believe this is real.

“I’m having this baby by myself and [with] Eva,”  the Little Women: Atlanta alum admitted on an earlier episode (Eva is her 6-year-old daughter from a previous relationship).

“I don’t need Lontel to raise a baby — I can do it on my own. I feel like I’m supposed to have another son. I feel like I’m supposed to have a baby."

The young mom knows that no baby will ever replace JJ, but realizes it's ok to move on from her grief.

“It’s definitely been a struggle,” Emily told Wetpaint of their family's "traumatic" loss.

“Lontel and I had a rough first couple months. And now we’re doing OK. We talk to each other about it and that’s how we get through it.”

Things ended on a rough note for Emily as she got into a literal kicking match with co-star Tiffani Chance at the reunion show, but hopefully a potential Season 3 will be filled with less drama and more love (and babies!) for this fun-loving Dallas gal.
