Because she plays Beth Greene on The Walking Dead, Emily Kinney is often around some very cute and talented men like Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) and Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes), but when the 28-year-old actress was growing up in the Midwest, she had a completely different (though still very adorable) celebrity crush.
Emily revealed the now-famous Oscar nominated actor she was crushing on in the early ‘90s in Entertainment Weekly's pop culture personality test, the video of which can be seen below. “I really loved Leonardo DiCaprio,” Emily confessed, though her infatuation with Leo wasn’t exactly typical. “It was almost more of an acting crush, like I thought he was such a good actor and I saw him on Growing Pains when he guest-starred. That’s when I first saw him and then I started watching his other movies… I had posters of him.”
Aww, imagining teenage Emily (she’s 28 in real life despite playing a teen on TV) swooning over Leo is pretty freaking cute. “It was a crush bet then it was also sort of an actor crush,” she admitted with a laugh. “I was really into it.”
For more on Emily’s pop culture obsessions, you can head on over to EW for the complete clip, but let’s move onto some TWD dirt.
“Now that the prison is gone, all bets are off. Anything can happen at any corner,” Emily teased to the mag. “Even though Beth is with Daryl, that feeling of being alone and having lost their home will be there throughout. The rest of the season, you’re going to see Beth dealing with her father’s death. She has to come to terms with it at some point. Now her role is changing. She’s going to have to step up in a certain way.”
