Emily VanCamp’s Indie Film, The Girl in the Book, Has a Kickstarter!

She may have gained international fame playing Revenge’s Emily Thorne, but actress Emily VanCamp isn’t above participating in lesser-known projects, especially if they are close to her heart. The 27-year-old is currently filming an indie flick in New York City titled The Girl in the Book. And the “passion project” is so far off the mainstream that it has its own Kickstarter campaign.

The film’s story centers around a writer named Alice (Emily VanCamp) whose story was stolen 15 years before the start of the film and published by Milan (Michael Nyqvist). Now her publishing company is reprinting the iconic tale and she has to come to grips with her painful past.

If Emily Thorne was put in this position, she’d just burn the publishing company down, but we have a feeling that Alice will face more of an internal struggle.

Unfortunately the Kickstarter has only raised a little more than $12,000 of its $65,000 goal and there’s only six days left to donate!

We hope the project will get funded because we want any and every excuse possible to watch Emily VanCamp in action. She is one of TV’s biggest female badasses after all!

Will you go see Emily’s new indie film if it gets funded? Tell us below!
