The 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards had its fair share of upsets, but one thing was certain: AMC’s Breaking Bad took home the coveted Best Drama series for the first time ever!

Sure, Bryan Cranston didn’t take home the gold for Best Actor in a Drama Series (though he has won twice) and Aaron Paul didn’t take home the Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series award (though he has also won twice), but Anna Gunn did score for the team. She took home the Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her epic portrayal of Skylar White — who has really turned into a stellar character.

But the real news was that Breaking Bad took home its first Emmy for Best Drama. Homeland swept the Drama categories last year, and Mad Men had won the previous four years. It looks like all the hype for the last season — which was split into two 7-episode halves, has poised the show for a double win. If it won this year for the first half of Season 5, it is sure to win next year for the last half.

We totally support this win and hope it means the show could sweep the entire gambit of Drama categories next year. The show is sure to go out with a bang in just a few weeks and we want that epicness to still be felt next fall at the 2014 Emmys!
