Cory Monteith (Finn) was one of the most talked-about names at the 2013 Emmy Awards. The Emmys chose to honor the late Glee star during their September 2013 broadcast, but that decision was not without a bit of controversy.

The thought is this: Cory never won an Emmy. So why did the show overlook Emmy winners who also passed away this year in order to pay tribute to him?

Whatever your thoughts on the issue, its hard to deny that Cory’s tribute was one of the most talked-about parts of the show. As such, it comes as no surprise that the Twitter’s official data analysis has revealed a tweet about Cory to be the most re-tweeted of anything Emmys related that night.

Cory’s former Glee co-star Kevin McHale (Artie) was not in the audience during the show, but he did watch Jane Lynch’s heartfelt tribute to Cory from home, and Kevin immediately took to Twitter to react to it.

@TwitterData revealed later that night that Kevin’s tweet was the most retweeted of all Emmys tweets, with over 3,000 RTs in just an hour.

So far, Kevin and Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina) are the only two members of Glee’s core cast to write about the tribute on Twitter.
