How's this for commitment. Homeland actress Morena Baccarin is pregnant with her first child with husband Austin Chick, and she's due any minute now. Like, she could be giving birth to her baby boy as you read this. But whatever, 'cause she's still heading to the 2013 Emmys tonight!
She's been nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, and she told E! News, "It's my first nomination. I will be there, no matter what." Attagirl! If she loses, she should force the baby out right as the winner starts her acceptance speech, just to upstage the moment.
Morena recently talked to Jimmy Kimmel about her very pregnant plans for the Emmys. “My doctor’s my plus one, so it’s all good," she joked, adding he'll be waiting in the limo, just in case. “I told myself that I was going to go, and if I went into labor at the Emmys, I was going to sit through it. I mean, no baby comes in four-and-a-half hours anyway, or maybe it’s like 12 hours. I don’t know how long the Emmys are.” The show does seem like 12 hours most of the time...
The Firefly alum also told E! she got some pregnancy advice from Homeland co-star Claire Danes, who went through all of this last year. "I remember when I first got pregnant, she told me, ‘Enjoy this moment when you can move, because pretty soon you're not going to be able to put your shoes on.' And she was right!"
So if we see Morena barefoot tonight, blame the baby. Good luck to the beautiful actress and mama-to-be!
