Grey’s Anatomy Submits 27 Emmy Entries — See Who Wants a Nomination!

As for our on-screen talent, every series regular who's been on longer than two seasons is in the running — Ellen Pompeo (Meredith Grey), Patrick Dempsey (Derek Shepherd), Sandra Oh (Cristina Yang), Chandra Wilson (Miranda Bailey), James Pickens Jr. (Richard Webber), Justin Chambers (Alex Karev), Sara Ramirez (Callie Torres), Jessica Capshaw (Arizona Robbins), Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt), Jesse Williams (Jackson Avery), and Sarah Drew (April Kepner)

All of those actors except two put themselves into contention for the supporting actor categories — Ellen is back in the Lead Actress field, and Kevin is trying his luck in the Lead Actor group.

Six guest actors have thrown their names into the hats — and we know you'll recognize at least one name! — Isaiah Washington (Preston Burke), Jason George (Ben Warren), Debbie Allen (Catherine Avery), James Remar (Alex's dad, Jimmy Evans), Rebecca Field (Sabine McNeil, the cardiomyopathy siblings' mother), and Jay Cramer (Mickey Wenschler, Callie and Derke's quadriplegic patient).

Back to our lead stars, Chandra and Kevin actually appear on the ballots twice, having submitted themselves for the directing trophy — her for the Cristina-centric Season 10, Episode 17 ("Do You Know?") and him for Season 10, Episode 19 ("I'm Winning").

Other Grey's directors vying for an Emmy are Tony Phelan for the wedding-interrupting Season 10, Episode 12 ("Get Up, Stand Up") and Rob Corn for the Burke-Cristina-reuniting Season 10, Episode 20 ("We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together").

Three writers are asking for voters' consideration: Stacy McKee for "Do You Know?", Joan Rater for "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together", and William Harper for "Fear (of the Unknown)" — i.e. the Season 10 finale.

The makeup team, meanwhile, is hoping for recognition for Season 10, Episode 13 ("Take It Back") — namely, their work on Robert Fisher, the Cat Man.

And the sound mixers are hoping for Emmy gold for their work with the audio of "Get Up, Stand Up." (Examples: Shocked murmurs when Jackson stands up, April's gasp, etc.)

Last but not least, the show itself is a nomination contender.
