Vampire Diaries fans have been known to get obsessive from time to time — that’s just one of the many reasons we love them! — and now Shameless star Emmy Rossum is getting caught in the crossfire!
Paul Wesley recently premiered his new indie flick Before I Disappear at SXSW in Austin, Texas, and his co-star Emmy recently spilled the dirt on what it’s like working with a TVD star, especially one who’s so beloved on social media. “Everyone in the Twittersphere is just asking me to ask Paul questions,” she told PopSugar. “They’re like, ‘Oh my god, will you marry me? Oh my god, what hair products does he use?” (Hey, what hair products does Paul use?)
Luckily, Paul seemed to get a kick out of his fans’ reactions. “I think it’s cool because we all have different [fan bases]. Shawn [Christensen] is a musician — his band was quite popular in the indie scene — and Emmy’s on a show. It’s cool because [there’s so much variety].”
With so much star power, we’re guessing Before I Disappear will be a total hit. According to its IMDB page, the plot for Before I Disappear is as follows: “At the lowest point of his life, Richie gets a call from his estranged sister, asking him to look after his eleven-year old niece, Sophia, for a few hours.”
Paul plays the supporting role of Gideon, alongside Emmy and Shawn, who is also directing the film. Shawn took home an Oscar in 2013 for his short film, Live Action. We’re excited to see Paul take on a character outside of Mystic Falls. After his stint playing sarcastic baddie Silas this season, we want to see him tackle even more challenging roles — and we know his rabid fans will agree.
