Emmys 2013: Connie Britton Nominated, Hayden Panettiere Snubbed

Apparently age does come before beauty.

The nominations for the 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards were announced early Thursday morning, and Connie Britton had Lady Luck in her corner while Hayden Panettiere did not.

Connie's portrayal of Rayna Jaymes on Nashville was spectacular in the freshman season of the ABC drama, and that's exactly why she was nominated for a 2012 Golden Globe Award. Hayden's Juliette Barnes was also nominated for a Golden Globe, though it was as a supporting actress while Connie carried the lead actress title.

It was very much expected that the Emmy nominations would follow suit, though that wasn't the case. Connie was once again nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series while Hayden was snubbed for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series.

Juliette had such an amazing season, showing a lot of growth and struggle that made her character so dynamic, but Rayna and her amazing hair apparently stole the show, with her divorce and baby daddy drama.

There is semi-good news for Hayden, however. "Nothing In This World Will Ever Break My Heart Again," the heartbreaking song she performed in the Season 1 finale, was nominated for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics. Many of Hayden's performances from this season were so memorable, and her character development was amazing — but apparently the Academy thinks Connie is more deserving.

What do you think? Should Connie and Hayden both been nominated or did one deserve it more? Hit the comments and sound off.
