Emmys 2013: Game of Thrones Star Peter Dinklage Nominated

Long live the Imp! Perennial Emmy favorite Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) has once again scored an Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series nomination for the 2013 awards, for his work on Game of Thrones Season 3.

As always, Peter brought wit and pathos to Westeros' most lovable Lannister during the season, playing everything from funny banter to fury at his father with conviction. It's no surprise to see his name on the list once again — our only disappointment is that his on-screen brother, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) wasn't there with him.

The other nominees are last year's winner, Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Bobby Cannavale (Boardwalk Empire), Jonathan Banks (Breaking Bad), Jim Carter (Downton Abbey), Mandy Patinkin (Homeland).

Will Peter be able to win? He scored an Emmy in 2011 for Game of Thrones Season 1, but lost out last year to Aaron Paul. Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama is one of the most talent-filled categories in the competition, and really, any of these nominees would be worthy winners, but our fingers are crossed for Peter.

Game of Thrones itself was also nominated for Outstanding Drama Series, Emilia Clarke got her first nod for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, Diana Rigg was nominated for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss got a writing nom for "The Rains of Castamere," and the show also got a bevy of technical noms.

The 2013 Emmy Awards will air on September 22, 2013.
