Game of Thrones Ending Is “100 Percent” Satisfying

While Game of Thrones is still thankfully a few years away from taking its final bow, there are a select few who know how the saga ends. There is of course George R. R. Martin, the author of the show’s source material, A Song of Ice and Fire, and who is currently at work trying to finish his story, and then there are the show’s creators, David Benioff and Dan Weiss, who received the ending of the story from Martin as a failsafe in case the show catches up to Martin’s novels. So, what do the showrunners think of what Martin has planned?

During the filming of Season 4 in Croatia, Entertainment Weekly asked the pair if the ending Martin divulged to them was satisfying. Their replies? Benioff says, “Absolutely.” While Weiss concurs, “100 percent.”

This vote of confidence from the pair should bring about a sigh of relief from those fans who worried that Martin was just spinning his wheels and didn’t have an ending in mind for his epic. Martin himself says, “I’ve stated numerous times that I anticipate a bittersweet ending.”

A bittersweet ending that is absolutely, 100 percent satisfying? Sounds to us like Game of Thrones may be taking a page out of the Breaking Bad handbook on how to perfectly end a television series, but we’ve got a few years left before we find out!
