Season 8 Bachelorette Emily Maynard announced her engagement more than two months ago, and we’re on the edge of our seats waiting for the big day to come. Adding fuel to our fire? The fact that Emily said there’s “no point in waiting” to walk down the aisle. Wait, Em, we barely have time to get in shape to be bridesmaids! But while Emily may have once had an arsenal of wedding planners at her beck and call (when she was engaged to Jef Holm), now she’s doing it on her own — with your help, that is.
Emily got a stack of rings from fiancé Tyler Johnson when he proposed at the beginning of January, but now she needs advice on choosing her wedding band — of a different source. “Does anyone know of any good bands that would be fun for a wedding? No YMCA or brick house allowed :),” she tweeted on March 17.
A fair request, we must say, Em. She must’ve made at least some progress on plotting her wedding, at least we hope so, since she asked fans on her blog in January to help out.
“I need some serious advice. HOW IN THE *#&@! DO YOU PLAN A WEDDING??” she wrote at the time.
Readers gave her advice on everything from spending money and time on her marriage rather than her wedding, to not getting hung up on perfection. Both sound like great suggestions, but may we give one more? Don’t hire any of the bands that played on your season of The Bachelorette. Oh, and maybe pass on any wedding bouquets featuring roses...
