Kim Kardashian Engagement Ring: Kanye’s Nod to North West
Kanye West put a ring on it just over a week ago and man, what a ring it is!
After an elaborate proposal including an entire baseball stadium, 50-piece orchestra, and fireworks, Kanye’s fiancée, Kim Kardashian, is rocking a major 15-carat diamond. The engagement ring was made special made by jewelry designer to the stars and Kimmy K’s personal fav, Lorraine Schwartz.
“I showed him a lot of stones,” Lorraine told Extraduring a recent interview. “He picked a perfect diamond, a D flawless.”
We’d already heard the stone in question was one of the rarest on the market and, at Kanye’s request, came with a conflict-free background, but it turns out there’s more to the bauble than meets the eye.
“He was really on top of every aspect of the design, wanting a certain northwest design on the ring, a compass style,” Lorraine continues. “He was perfect.”
No, what’s perfect is incorporating what’s quickly become the Kardashian-West family crest: a compass arrow pointed north west, aka the name of the couple’s five-month-old daughter.
We can hardly wait to see how special Nori details find their way into Mom and Dad’s wedding. Maybe paint a compass onto those fighter jets Kanye said he wants?
