Bachelorette 2014 Episode 3 Ratings Flop, Set New Lows Record
Hmm. Well... this is awkward. Andi Dorfman looked amazing last night on The Bachelorette Season 10 Episode 3, took awesome guys on awesome dates, and smiled hard without knowing the bad stuff happening in the wings. In short, she kicked total butt. But there were very few of those butts in seats to watch her do it, and we have a feeling why. It starts with a “Sunda-” and ends with a “y are you showing The Bachelorette today, ABC?!”
We’re not exaggerating. Although we pointed out last week that Andi’s Memorial Day episode hit the lowest of lows of all time, updated stats later boosted its rating score a bit above its initial 1.6 guestimate. And hey, maybe the same will happen this week, but it’s going to need a lot more mouth-to-mouth than even Andi can give. TVbytheNumbers did the dirty work, and dropped some knowledge that would have us shaking in our boots if we were the ones programming the show.
According to the site, Episode 3 pulled only a 1.3 rating in the key 18-49 demographic advertisers love so much, with a 4 ratings share (tying a rerun of the Simpsons in that metric). Down from last week’s 1.6 by 19 percent, it also dropped in viewers from 6 million down to 4.9 million. Yikes.
Surely we can’t have been the only people to tune in (we watched with 4.899 million of our closest friends), but those are some bummer numbers. Our fingers are crossed that more rose-loving lovelies will check out the episode tonight, June 2 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Will you? Hit the comments and discuss.
