Bachelorette 2014 Episode 7: When Grown Men Give the Silent Treatment

Who knew that guys could do the awkward silent treatment as well as the ladies? We witnessed this in action in Season 10, Episode 7 of Andi Dorfman’s “journey” as The Bachelorette, when Nick Viall walked in on the rest of the contestants talking about him. The group of six grown men then sat together in silence for what felt like an eternity, and most viewers agreed that it was almost as painful watching it all go down as it must have been being there. That earned this salty moment the title of this week’s Bachelorette Bleachable Moment presented by Clorox.

It should be noted that basketball coach Brian Osborne finally saved everyone from their misery by breaking the silence and confronting “Tricky Nicky” about his recent shady actions, as everyone — from Josh Murray to Chris Soules — chimed in and called him out for not being there for the (you guessed it!) “right reasons.” Still, before the conversation was opened up to the room, you could hear a pin drop, which spurred 63 percent of Viggle users to call those forever seconds completely bleachable.

But that uncomfortable silence wasn’t the only squirm-worthy moment of the ep, as
Marcus Grodd’s 1-on-1 date with Andi left something to be desired. Though the two enjoyed a drool-inducing feast of Belgian specialties like mussels and waffles, their table talk turned to a more serious note when the tough cookie Bachelorette put Marcus on the spot about his admission that he almost left the show early. The sports medicine manager managed to recover with Andi, but not before 37 percent of Viggle users called it a bleachable alert.

If the guys’ awkward silence had you squirming and that chat between Andi and Marcus left you feeling unsettled, you should definitely get involved and download the Viggle app immediately. Next thing you know, you’ll be sharing your opinions with other Bachelorette lovers on polls and displaying your trivia skills for all things rose-related — in addition to your knowledge of many other hit series. You might not get a free trip to an exotic island like Andi and her guys, but you will earn points along the way to get cool stuff like a new Keurig to replace that one you broke while watching Nick brag about his “frontrunner” status.
