Eric Dane Gets Candid About Sex Tape, Rehab Stint: “We’ve All Made Mistakes”

Luckily for Eric Dane (Mark Sloan), his life isn't nearly as dramatic as that of his Grey's Anatomy character, Mark Sloan — but the 41-year-old actor still cops up to his own share of drama.

Also lucky is that those struggles are behind him, and it sounds like he's accepting them as he moves forward with his life.

"We've all made mistakes," he tells People in a new interview.

In case you missed his more turbulent years, Eric sought rehab in 2011 for an addiction to pain medication.

Two years earlier, Gawker Media published an uncensored sex tape featuring him, wife Rebecca Gayheart, and former beauty queen Kari Ann Peniche.

Continues Eric: "My one regret is that I got the person I love most wrapped up in all that: Rebecca."

Still, both incidents are years in the past, and Eric seems to be more successful than ever in all facets of his life — with a solid marriage, two young daughters, and a new hit show on TNT.

"I honestly think I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be at this moment in time," the Last Ship star says. "And I'm really happy … I never had a family, and now I do. I know I'm a very lucky guy."
