The good news just keeps rolling in for rapper Eve, who Deadline reports is set to make her return to the TV world in a brand new ABC sitcom.
The Philly native will star in a romantic comedy about an interracial couple — something that is parallel to her real-life relationship with British fiance, Maximillion Cooper, who popped the question this past Christmas.
According to Deadline, the show has yet to find a writer, but is slated for the 2014–15 development season.
In 2003, Eve made her television debut in her eponymous UPN show, which also starred Ali Landry, Jason George (Grey’s Anatomy), and Sean Maguire (Once Upon a Time). The show was cancelled after three seasons, and Eve took the time to focus on her fashion line, Fetish, and her music career. However, the rapper/actress has popped in and out of TV with appearances on Glee, Whitney, and most recently Single Ladies.
This new show will contend with another interracial comedy ABC has in development, which is being co-produced by The View’s Whoopi Goldberg.
We’re glad to see that Eve is jumping back on the acting saddle. Congrats!
